about us
The World Leadership Forum is a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation which promotes leadership by spotlighting the work of exceptional leaders and achievers in a host of disciplines, and by stimulating debate on leadership issues.
The World Leadership Forum's electronic magazine Leader, publishes regular news and opinions on leadership, and can be found at www.LeaderMagazine.org.
World Leadership Forum events include:
Policymaker of the Year
Given annually to a living individual who has created, inspired or strongly influenced important policy or legislation. The nationality or domicile of candidates has no influence on the outcome; the sole criterion is the quality of leadership shown. The World Leadership Forum's current Policymaker of the Year is Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India.
Bermuda One
In October 2008 the World Leadership Forum's 'Bermuda One' Conference will debate the key links (political, economic and defence) which define the relationship between America and Europe.
Business Leader of the Year
The World Leadership Forum believes that highlighting the work of the best business leaders, and the best management practice, pays dividends to the wider business world, and gives young people a less distorted view of commerce than that which is sometimes portrayed in the media. The World Leadership Forum's current Business Leader of the Year is Stuart Rose, Chief Executive of Marks & Spencer.
The International Leadership & Enterprise Conference
The International Leadership & Enterprise Conference (ILEC) debates the global geopolitical issues that effect employment and prosperity everywhere.
The Business Editors' Conference
Held in conjunction with the Business Journalist of the Year Awards Presentation Ceremony, the Business Editors' Conference is business publishing's most important debating forum. This is where the world's most influential and experienced business editors flag up the many opportunities and pitfalls created by modern business publishing.
The World Leadership Awards
The annual World Leadership Awards are given to city leaders who have shown exceptional imagination, foresight or resilience in a number of key fields - especially cities that have reversed trends, shaken off traditional images and acted as an example and inspiration to others. They are the world's most important awards for urban leadership.
The SET Awards
Britain's most important and prestigious award scheme for science undergraduates. The SET awards (Science, Engineering & Technology Student of the Year) publicly recognise exceptional achievements of both students and universities. They are presented at a spectacular ceremony bringing together hundreds of technology students and academics, as well as senior figures from industry, government, science and the media.
The Business Journalist of the Year Awards
The Business Journalist of the Year Awards are widely recognised as the most important global awards for business writers and broadcasters. They are the only awards for business writers that are open to journalists of all nationalities and the only awards to cover the entire spectrum of business and financial reporting. The Business Journalist of the Year Awards are judged exclusively by journalists and governed by the World's leading business editors.
